01 · Built where the work is
The inspection runner keeps working in the dead corner of the yard. Every entry queues on the device and syncs when signal returns — nothing is lost to a force-quit, and nothing is entered twice.
Pass and fail are 60-point targets, not 44. Apple's minimum assumes a bare fingertip on a stationary device; ours assumes nitrile gloves at arm's length on a trolley-mounted iPad.
A mechanic gets two tabs and big targets. The office gets five tabs and density. The same sign-in decides which — nobody configures anything.
02 · The inspection sheet
Green is a pass. Red is a failure. Amber is a date falling due. Nothing else on the screen competes with them, because the inspection sheet is where a misread is a safety event. Every status carries a mark and a word as well as a hue — legible to a colour-blind mechanic in full sun.
CVRT-style sheets ship ready to use. Failures raise defects, defects carry photos, and rectification is recorded against the vehicle — the full history is on the timeline when the inspector asks.

03 · Money that stands still
Every price, cost and labour rate is written onto the job at the moment it’s recorded. Updating your price list never rewrites an invoice already issued — a failure mode workshop software is notorious for, and the first thing we fixed.
Invoices are numbered, delivered and collected by Stripe — card at the counter, Tap to Pay on iPhone at handover, bank transfer or SEPA direct debit for account customers, with reminders that chase themselves. Workbay decides the VAT treatment, including the two-thirds rule; Stripe does the arithmetic. Your customers pay you directly — Workbay never touches the money.
04 · What changes
The job card, the inspection sheet, the report and the invoice write themselves from the work as it happens. Nothing is typed twice, nothing is looked for in a drawer.
Estimates go out by email and come back approved with one tap. Invoices are delivered and reminded automatically. Compliance dates turn amber before they turn into a fine.
